Sammi Chiyao is a PhD candidate at Stanford University, originally from Boston. Her work has received the 2025 PEN/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize and been named as a finalist for the 2026 North American Review Speculative Fiction Prize. She has been supported by Tin House, Kundiman, the Napa Valley Writer’s Conference, Periplus, and Seventh Wave.
